Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
