Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are demanding that a man who jumped a fence and seized the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating footage reveals the Australian man pushing past camera operators and charging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a event pathway surrounded by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the event by guards.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being detained", though legal records indicated that he was set to appear on the following morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

Record of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram account contains videos of him interrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last year.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is obviously a punishable act," stated an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Followers Show Disapproval Over the Star's Safety

Several followers blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the end of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented another response on Instagram.

Some fans also questioned security officers at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while some called for social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Premiere Information

In videos circulating online, Grande looked shocked when she was approached by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

Many of supporters had gathered in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore venue, including several who had queued for as long as many hours before it started.

The movie, to be premiered on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-part interpretation of the well-known Broadway and West End show Wicked, which focuses on the surprising friendship between two contrasting characters.

The production itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of 2024 in the UK, and received ten Oscar nominations, earning several for best costume and artistic direction.
