Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is not yet known and the United States has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Additional Developments
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.
Officials reported missile fragments landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
