Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane touched down following standard procedures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident is not the first occasion that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has suffered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was forced to head back to the US capital after suffering a mechanical problem.
